Famous Architectural Milestones

The ancient pyramids of Egypt are one of the architectural styles that cannot be duplicated today. Throughout time, architectural styles have continued to evolve to make architectural designs more efficient and space saving. With the exception of the pyramids, the construction of which remains a mystery, the concept of architectural design in buildings has continued to become more efficient and space saving.

The ancients constructed some of the most magnificent structures in the world. Thousands of years later, they are still standing. Take a look at some of the structures in Rome and Greece that were constructed thousands of years ago that still remain today.

The ancient Aztecs were another group of people who knew much about architectural design and whose pyramids and monuments still exist today.

In more modern times, architectural structures such as the Taj Mahal were constructed. This magnificent architectural wonder is one of the 7 wonders of the world and has to be seen with your own eyes as postcards and photos do not do it justice. Yet it was constructed hundreds of years ago. Such architectural design does not even seem possible today.

In Victorian times, ornate architecture was all the rage but soon gave way to a new architectural style that embraced both art as well as modern design. When the Art Deco style was sprung upon the public, many hated this type of architectural design, the most famous example of which is probably the Empire State building.

Other examples of innovative architecture throughout the ages include the magnificent Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Space Needle in Seattle. The Sears Tower in Chicago is currently the tallest building in the world. Today, innovations in architectural style are still making this scientific art evolve. Many of today's design combine both futuristic style as well as energy efficiency. To find out more about famous architectural milestones, visit Chat About Architecture.
